Projects 2009 - 2010
As all are aware the ability to change the world lies in our own hands and wel only be achieved through small steps. The Axim charity offers one avenue through which you can make your contribution towards a genuine vision of world citizenship.
The projects we have planned for the year 2009-2010 have been designed to be clearly measurable and such that contributors will be able to clearly see the difference they have made. We will focus on :-
| • |
The provision of a functional mortuary. The current one being unable to fulfil it’s
role due to the wide catchment area of the hospital. Obviously cadavers poorly
stored are a great health hazard to both patients and workers at the hospital.
|
|
| • |
Providing vocational education in a number of areas for young adolescent and
girls and boys who would otherwise have no marketable skills and could possibly
end up being forced into a life of exploitation.
|
|
| • |
Generating a continual flow of general medical equipment to the hospital including
both pharmaceutical products and wound protection/support items.
|
|
| • |
We welcome the assistance of any volunteers who have skills that they would
be prepared to share with the hospital over a period of three or more months
whilst taking the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich culture and
natural beauty to be found in the Nzema region. |

From the above the most pressing is the provision of a large and fully functioning Mortuary. A large amount of investigation has been made as to what size, shipping and equipment costs as well as Risk Management. It has been decided that for a hospital covering such a significant area TWO Mortuary fridges will be required ensuring not only capacity but also the ability for one to act as a backup should there be any technical failure.
We are requesting that all those familiar with Axim and surrounding areas and with ties to the area make a donation of £100.00 This first target will be an important proof of our ability to take the lead and accomplish a project in our new organisational format.
